Translation
Understanding the nature and scope of your
particular translation needs is the key to an impeccable translation.
In order to save you valuable time, costs, and minimize obstacles at the
outset of a project, questions such as these need to be addressed: How
does a particular project fit into your overall business? What audience
are you trying to reach? Will a text be updated frequently? What is the
desired turnaround time?
Most translations are accomplished with the support of translation memory
tools. Each translated sentence is automatically saved in a database and
will be recognized in future translation projects and translated consistently.
After the text has been translated, it is edited as necessary and proofread.
The editing cycle is usually done by a second pair of eyes and followed
by another round of proofreading as a last step towards a polished final
translation.
Voice-over
If
you need a natural, clear German voice or an excellent English voice with
a very subtle accent, look no further. I'm your voice for commercials,
narrations, interviews or any other type of voice-over (listen
to voice sample).
Editing/Proofreading
This service is available separately, if
you want a professional linguist to check your German and English texts
for accuracy, clarity, consistency or style.
Interpreting
There are many occassions when an interpreter
is the only or most efficient way to ensure communication between two
parties. The most common settings for German interpreting are at court
or for a deposition. Other areas include medical and business interpreting
(including conference interpreting) as well as escort or interpreting
at social events.
For a list of selected work experience
in all of these areas, see Projects.
